"The 30 years during which Armenia kept Azerbaijani lands under occupation has taught Armenia to think 30 times before taking steps against Azerbaijan," Aygun Attar, Chairman of the Board of Türkiye-Azerbaijan Friendship, Cooperation and Solidarity Foundation, said in response to claims about Azerbaijan made by Armenian-origin politician Garo Paylan, former member of the Turkish parliament from the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP), Report informs via Haber Global.
"Garo, who was a columnist in Agos newspaper, was later elected as a member of parliament. Currently, he lives comfortably on taxes deducted from our salaries. But he doesn't stay quiet. When he was a member of the Turkish Grand National Assembly, he worked against Türkiye and Turkishness both domestically and abroad. He became the voice of others, not the country where he grew up and ate its bread and drank its water. He was awarded a gold medal by former Armenian President Serj Sarkisian, who had blood of Khojaly on his hands, for his active diaspora activities," Aygun Attar stated.
Attar said that Garo Paylan's recent statement is illogical: "So, Armenia will arm itself, and Azerbaijan should sit and wait for a non-friendly country to strengthen? Do you think we're not aware of the games being played against Azerbaijan and Türkiye under the guise of normalization? The Azerbaijani nation and state know your intentions. Although Azerbaijan knows its enemy isn't brave, it has acted bravely both on the battlefield and diplomatic arena. This rhetoric brought the victory in Karabakh. What I'm saying is, come to your senses, Garo Paylan!"
In his recent statement, the Armenian-origin politician said that Armenia is buying time through normalization with Azerbaijan on one hand, while purchasing weapons from France and the USA on the other.
