In two months of 2022, the volume of supplies from Azerbaijan to Russia grew by 38% to $123 million, Russian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Mikhail Borcharnikov told a press conference.

According to Report, the ambassador stressed Azerbaijan's interest in increasing shipments of fruits and vegetables to Russia, reminding that Russia has canceled all restrictions on tomato supplies from Azerbaijan.

"Restrictions are temporary due to sanctions. I think they will be lifted after several months," he added, noting that supplies from Azerbaijan to Russia continue as part of the project Agroexpress.

"In addition, it is planned to expand the capacity of railways and roads of goods from Azerbaijan to Russia and vice versa, and it is also planned to expand the volume of deliveries by sea," the ambassador said.

According to him, negotiations are underway to increase the cargo throughput capacity of railways and motor roads from Azerbaijan to Russia and back, and it is also planned to boost shipments by sea.
