Azerbaijan has established itself as one of the regional centers, Azerbaijan's Prime Minister Ali Asadov said at the 11th summit of the D-8 Organization for Economic Cooperation in Cairo, Report informs.
He thanked the members of the organization for their support of Azerbaijan's membership application: "Member countries unanimously made a historic decision to accept our country as a member of D-8. Azerbaijan will contribute to deepening cooperation within the organization."
According to him, amid conflicts and political tensions of the modern world, ensuring security, stability, and development of mutually beneficial cooperation in the region is important.
"Thanks to its geopolitical position, broad economic potential, and modern transport infrastructure, Azerbaijan has established itself as one of the reliable regional centers," he noted.
Asadov added that Azerbaijan, located at the intersection of Europe and Asia, plays an important role in implementing important energy projects and developing international transport corridors.
