Pakistan rejects elections in Nagorno Karabakh

Pakistan is one of the countries that support Azerbaijani independence from the very first years. Pakistani people, government, and foreign offices are always with Azerbaijani friends.

Pakistan does not recognize the so-called "elections" organized by the separatists in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan-Nagorno-Karabakh, Report says, citing Pakistani newspaper Dispatch News Desk (DND).

According to Foreign Office Spokesperson Aisha Farooqui, the election constitutes a clear breach of international law and UN Security Council resolutions. It is an attempt by Armenia to hamper the ongoing negotiation process for finding a lasting solution to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict through peaceful means. Pakistan reaffirms its principled position on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and reiterates its support to the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.
