UEFA chief says Russian athletes should not suffer from sanctions

UEFA President Alexander Ceferin said that athletes from Russia and Belarus feel a discriminative attitude toward them though they are not guilty of what is going on.

He said the athletes should not suffer. The UEFA chief added that for this reason, it is necessary to demonstrate a strong will and show that the sanctions are not targeting the Russian athletes or the Russian people.

FIFA and UEFA have banned the Russian teams from tournaments due to Moscow's military invasion of Ukraine.
