UEFA allocates significant amount to seven Azerbaijani clubs

Baku. 16 November. REPORT.AZ/ UEFA has allocated significant funds to seven out of eight Azerbaijani clubs participating in the Azerbaijan Premier League in 2016/2017 season.

Report informs that the funds were issued as part of the the UEFA program 'Solidarity payments and children's football development". EUR 507,579.57 has been allocated to the teams that played in the Azerbaijani Premier League but did not reach the group stage of the Champions League and Europa League. These are Zira, Keshla, Sumgayit, Sabayil, Neftchi, Kapaz and Gabala. In the end of the 2016/2017 season Qarabag did not get this funding since it reached the group stage of the Europa League.

Notably, the funds issued by UEFA were transferred to the accounts of the clubs through AFFA mediation.
