Trabzonspor fans protest against referee's red card

Baku. 22 February. REPORT.AZ/ Trabzonspor fans held a protest rally against referee's red card, Report informs referring to the Turkish media.

Trabzonspor defender Salih Dursun was sent off by a referee during his team's match with Galatasaray in İstanbul on Sunday, after grabbing the match official's red card and showing it to him in protest.

Galatasaray hosted Trabzonspor in their week 22 Spor Toto Super League encounter at 7 p.m. at the Türk Telekom Arena on Sunday night. The match ended with the host team securing a 2-1 victory, and Trabzonspor ended the game with seven players.

Dursun was among those sent off, but his dismissal was distinctly different to that of his teammates. The Trabzonspor defender ran towards referee Deniz Ateş Bintel, who was about to show a red card to his teammate Luis Cavanda. In the resulting skirmish around him, Bintel dropped the card on the ground. Dursun picked up from the ground and showed it to the referee in protest.

The rally has ended without incidents.
