Season's footballer named by voting among players for the first time

Baku. 22 May. REPORT.AZ/ The best footballer of the season 2017-2018 has been determined as a result of voting among players for the first time.

133 footballers from 185 (72%) whose names listed in the squad of main teams on the web-site of Professional Football League attended in the survey conducted by Sports Research Centre with the support of Report. 11 footballers from Qarabag, 21 from Gabala, 17 from Neftchi, 16 from Zira, 19 from Sumgait, 13 from Keshla, 25 from Sabail and 11 footballers from Kapaz have voted.

Respondents generally distinguished 44 players. In the end, midfielder of Sumgait, Javid Imamverdiyev was elected footballer of season. The 28-year-old player has surpassed the striker of Gabala by one vote and best scorer of Premier League, Bagaliy Dabo with 13 goals. Imamverdiyev had 17votes, while Dabo 16.

Neftchi midfielder Rahman Hajiyev and player of Keshla Cesar Meza Kolli ranked the next two places with 9 votes for each. Mirabdulla Abbasov (Neftchi), Richard Almeyda and Gara Garayev (both Qarabag) had 7 votes for each.
