Sabail defender: “To play at Chelsea is my dream” - INTERVIEW

Baku. 23 October. REPORT.AZ/  Report’s interview with FK Sabail defender Maudo Lamine Jarjué…

-You have played at “Gil Vicente” until coming to “Sabail”. What is difference between Azerbaijan “Premier League” and Portuguese “Premiera”?

- Of course, there is difference. Firstly, “Premiera” is a stronger league and there are more clubs than Azerbaijan “Premier League”. Big players and good teams participate in Portugal. It was difficult to play every game for me in “Gil Vicente”. So I decided to come to Azerbaijan for playing more. I increase my experiencewith attending more games in "Sabail" and this is very important for my career. I think these leagues are slightly different.

- What can you say about the current position of “Sabail”?

- It is very good club. Already it is 2 years that I am here. Our previous season's squad did not have current key players and we had started to the championship, almost, with only local ones. During the last two years, the team has had a very good improvement. Being in the 3rd place in championship now proves it. I hope that we can form a better team than this.

- Who is the more talented player among your teammates?

- “Sabail” has several talented players. Especially, I would like to mention our goalkeeper Emil Balayev. I like his playing style.

- With whom do you get closer among your teammates?

-As one of my close friends, I would like to mention Kamal Gurbanov. Sometimes in our free time we go to Nizami Street called “Targovu” or Park Boulevard and sit in the restaurants there. I also love the azerbaijanis. They are very good people.

- Is there any football player that you watch him with interest?

- Yeah, I would like to mention David Luis, who plays at “Chelsea”. He has inspired me a lot with his playing style.

- What is the impact of your first professional club, "Gil Vicente", on your career?

- I have some good memories with “Gil Vicente”. So I have worked with good people here and the club has taught me a lot of things. From my young age, I have had the chance to get some experience with playing there.

-At the end of this season, your contract with the club will end up. Do you think about extending your deal?

-Yes. At present, I have good relations with the club and I am happy here. But every young player wants to play at more ambitious clubs. The extension of the contract depends on the negotiations with the club. It's too early to talk about it. I can only say that it's convenient for me here. The club wants to renew the contract with me but I'm waiting for the end of the season.

- You are 21 now. As a young player, what are your plans for the future?

-My main goal is to play at big clubs, especially at “Chelsea”. This is my dream. My career started in Portugal, but I am here right now. Everything is possible. No one can say what will happen tomorrow. Commonly, I always believe in myself and do not care what people say about me. I think that I can get everything possible.
