Neftchi fails to fly to Russia

Neftchi club, which represents Azerbaijan in the UEFA Europa League, failed to arrive in Russia at the appointed time for the first match of the 2nd qualifying round with Arsenal.

Report informs that the reason is detection of a technical problem at the aircraft, which was scheduled to fly from Baku to Moscow from the Heydar Aliyev International Airport at 06.50. The flight will be delayed until 11:00 am. The team will travel by bus from the Russian capital to Tula, that is represented by Arsenal club.

At present, Neftchi's president Kamran Guliyev is in talks with officials at the airport to have flight timely.

Press conference will be held with the participation of Neftchi’s head coach Roberto Bordi and captain Emin Mahmudov. The event will be held today at the press hall of Arsenal- Central Stadium and will begin at 18:30 Baku time. Following the conference, the team will have an open training (first 15 minutes) for the media representatives at 19:00.

Notably, the match to be held at the Arsenal’s central stadium on July 25 at Arsenal -Central Stadium, will begin at 21:00 Baku time. The match will be broadcast live on CBC Sport channel.
