Armenian head coach of Uzbek national team dismissed VIDEO

Baku. 7 September. REPORT.AZ/ Head coach of the Uzbek national football team of Armenian origin Samvel Babayan has been dismissed.

Report informs citing the official website of the Uzbek Football Federation, the 46-year-old specialist and his coach staff have been dismissed due to the failure to qualify for the 2018 World Cup.

As a result of the qualification stage, Uzbekistan has taken the fourth place with 13 points falling behind Iran, South Korea and Syria. In the IV selection round, the Syrians will face Australia. There is a possibility that the winner will play against the U.S. national team at the play-off stage.

Notably, while Samvel Babayan was going to leave the room after answering reporters’ questions following the match with South Korea on September 5, local media representatives saw him off with the “Shame on you” slogan.
