World Bank’s regional director and country manager will visit Azerbaijan

Baku. 17 October. REPORT.AZ/ New country manager of World Bank (WB) for Azerbaijan Naveed Hassan Naqvi is coming to Baku today. 

Report informs, he is expected to meet with number of government officials.

WB regional director for South Caucasus Mercy Tembon is also expected to arrive in Azerbaijan on October 18.

M.Tembon will introduce new country manager to officials. She will meet with Chairman of Central Bank of Azerbaijan Elman Rustamov, Minister of Finance Samir Sharifov and other officials.

M.Tembon replaced Henry Godfrey Rupiny Kerali in position of WB Regional Director for South Caucasus on October 1, 2015.

Notably, new country manager for Azerbaijan N.H. Naqvi, the graduate of Durham and Hull universities, started his career in World Bank in 2004 in the position related to economic education. Later he occupied several positions in Pakistani government.

Notably, mission of former representative in Azerbaijan Larisa Leshchenko ended in June, 2016. She continues her career in Liberia (West Africa).
