Baku. 7 January. REPORT.AZ/ China and US have officially launched negotiations in Beijing to eliminate mutual differences in the sphere of trade and economy, Report informs citing a Beijing newspaper.

According to the information, a motorcade with more than 10 cars carrying US delegates have arrived at the Chinese Ministry of Commerce located in the very heart of Beijing. The two-day consultations have started at around 09.00 local time (05.00 Baku time).

The negotiations are expected to proceed in a form of a constructive dialogue that will help achieve progress in the implementation of agreements reached at the top level.

The ongoing China-US negotiations in Beijing are the first official meeting of the representatives of the two countries on trade and economic issues since early December when at the G20 summit in Argentina the US and Chinese leaders Donald Trump and Xi Jinping agreed to eliminate differences caused by imbalance in mutual trade. The US delegation is led by Deputy United States Trade Representative Jeffrey D. Gerrish.
