Inflation exceeds 3% in Azerbaijan

In January 2021, the consumer price index in Azerbaijan grew by 3.3% from the same period of the last year, including 4.6% for food, drinks, and tobacco products, 3.5% for non-food products, and 1.3% for tariffs for paid services to the population, Report informs with reference to the State Statistical Committee of Azerbaijan.
Compared to August, the consumer price index rose by 1.2% in January.
Also, in January 2021, consumer prices rose 1.2% from the previous month. The consumer price index for foodstuffs, beverages, and tobacco in January increased by 1.4% compared to December 2020.
While consumer prices for non-food products grew by 2.5% against the previous month, consumer prices for paid services to the population did not change.
