IMF predicts 2.7% growth in Azerbaijan's economy in 2019

Azerbaijan's economy will grow by 2.7 percent in 2019, by 2.1 percent in 2020, according to IMF's World Economic Outlook, Report informs.

According to IMF, last year GDP growth rates were at the level of one percent, and in 2024 they are projected at 2.4 percent.

The Monetary Fund predicts inflation in the country at 2.8 percent in 2019, 3 percent in 2020, and 3 percent in 2024. In 2018, consumer prices in Azerbaijan were at the level of 2.3 percent.

IMF predicts that over the course of 2019-2020, the country's poverty level will remain at around five percent.

The current account surplus will decrease from 12.9 percent of GDP in 2018 to 9.7 percent in 2019. The indicator is expected to reach 10 percent in 2020, and 7.6 percent of GDP in 2024.
