Foreigners’ deposits in Azerbaijan-based banks decline by 10%

Baku. 8 January. REPORT.AZ/ In November 2018, foreigners’ deposits in Azerbaijan-based banks declined by AZN 84.6 million or 10% to AZN 760 million, Report informs referring to the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).

According to the CBA, the decline was mainly due to deposits in foreign currencies. In the reporting period, deposits in manat rose by AZN 11.5 million or 13.2% to AZN 98.4 million, in foreign currencies dropped by AZN 96.1 million or 12.7% to AZN 661.6 million.

As of December 1, 2018 individuals’ deposits in Azerbaijan-based banks made up AZN 8,073,500,000, with 90.6% or AZN 7,313,500,000 belonging to residents, and 9.4% or AZN 760 million to non-residents.
