Deflation observed in Azerbaijan

Baku. 13 May. REPORT.AZ/ In April of this year prices of food products in Azerbaijan rose by 0.5%, non-food prices fell 0.5%, the prices and tariffs for paid services to population decreased by 0.9%. In general, for the last month the prices for consumer goods and tariffs for services decreased by 0.2%.

Report informs referring to the information given by the State Statistics Committee, in the reporting month the prices for buckwheat, fish products, poultry meat, eggs, corn oil, sugar, herbs, beets, potatoes decreased, the price of rice, pasta, beef and mutton, butter, olive oil and sunflower oil, lemons, oranges, tangerines, bananas, pears, apples, cabbage, carrots, onions, garlic, alcoholic beverages increased.

In April the prices for non-food products fell on the fabric, clothing and shoes, furniture and household items, carpets and other floor coverings.

In the reporting month, the paid services rendered to the population decreased intariffs on passenger transportation by air transport, and higher tariffs for international rail passenger traffic.

In March of this year, inflation made 0.9%, and in the first quarter of this year by 2.8%.
