Baku. 3 April. REPORT.AZ / World currency reserves in last quarter of 2016 decreased by 266 bln USD or 2.4% - from 11.059 trln to 10.793 trln USD.

Report informs this is stated in the quarterly report of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) (Currency Composition of Official Foreign Exchange Reserves, COFER).

Notably, in this report for the first time a separate line is allocated for reserves in Chinese currency. The Yuan became the eighth currency that is considered separately, along with the US dollar, the euro, the Japanese yen, the British pound sterling, the Australian dollar, the Canadian dollar, and the Swiss franc.

The report also notes that stocks in US dollars increased by 113 bln USD - up to 5.05 trln USD, in euros decreased by 19 bln USD –up to 1.56 trln USD, in yen - decreased by 14 bln USD – up to 333 bln USD. Reserves of central banks in RMB amounted to 84.5 bln USD.
