Central Bank of Azerbaijan holds extraordinary currency auction

Baku. 7 April. REPORT.AZ/ Today Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) is holding extraordinary currency auction.

Report informs, currency selling by the CBAR to the commercial banks is expected in the auction.

Notably, during this week (on April 3 and April 5), the CBAR has held two purchase-oriented auctions and as a result, totally purchased 0,4 million US-dollars.

Notably, however, regular currency auctions of the CBAR is held on odd days of the week, the regulator has decided to held extraordinary auction today and this decision was unexpected to market participants.

The Analytical Group of Report News Agency believes that the CBAR's decision to hold an auction today shows that it insists on regulation of the currency market.

Notably, the CBAR's official exchange rate for today is 1,5193 AZN/USD.
