Azerbaijani leasing companies hold talks with State Customs Committee

Baku. 9 October. REPORT.AZ/ The leading leasing companies of Azerbaijan negotiate with the State Customs Committee (SCC) to achieve value added tax (VAT) exemption on the goods imported for leasing purposes.

Ramal Jafarov, Chairman of MCB Leasing OJSC Management Board told Report.

"As you know, the Tax Code was amended last year and import of leasing goods was exempted from VAT. But there are still problems in applying this innovation together with the SCC. The main difficulty is related to the determination of economic importance of some imported equipment, car. That is, someone can bring a car to Azerbaijan and say that it is necessary for the development of entrepreneurship, however, true purpose is consumption. From this point of view the issue remains unresolved. We have repeatedly met with the leadership of the Committee, addressed letters, we hope we will reach an agreement", R. Jafarov said.
