Azerbaijan's taxpayer base reaches 1.72 million

As of August 1, 2026, the number of taxpayers registered in Azerbaijan reached 1,715,746.

According to Report, citing the State Tax Service under the Ministry of Economy, the figure is 4.8% higher than on August 1 last year.

Individuals accounted for 86.7% of all taxpayers, while legal entities and other organizations made up 13.3%. Over the past year, the number of individual entrepreneurs increased by 4.6%, while the number of institutions, enterprises and organizations rose by 5.9%.

As of the end of July, the number of registered commercial entities stood at 211,595, up 6.7% year-on-year.

A total of 1,257 commercial entities were registered in July. Of these, 86.1% had domestic investment and 13.9% had foreign investment.

Some 82.7% of commercial entities were registered electronically. The share of electronic registration among domestically invested limited liability companies (LLCs) stood at 97.1%.

LLCs accounted for 92.2% of all commercial legal entities registered with the state.
