Azerbaijani boxer of French national team: "I would be proud to fight for my homeland"

"It was tough because it was my first fight in the race. There was some excitement since everyone expected a result from me”.

Azerbaijani boxer Murad Aliyev, who participated in the 2nd European Games, told Report’s correspondent in Minsk.

In the 1/16 finals 25-year-old athlete defeated Latvia’s Evanders Servuts (91 kg) and reached next round. The next goal of Aliyev is to defeat Romanian Mihai Nistor on June 24 and win a gold medal.

Young boxer says he would be glad to perform within the Azerbaijani national team if invited: “I would be proud to fight for my homeland. There are all conditions for training and development in France."
