Transportation of Turkmen oil via BTC up 71%

From March of this year to the end of June, 1.1 million tons of Turkmen oil were sent to Azerbaijan's terminals for further transportation through the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline, up 70.8% from the previous year, Report informs, citing Argus publication.

In general, Turkmenistan transported 1.37 million barrels of oil in the first half of this year, 22.6% less than a year ago.

The increase in the volume of transportation of Turkmen oil through BTC was caused by the suspension of the transfer of this type of oil through Makhachkala.

The BTC pipeline currently carries mainly oil from Azerbaijan from the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli (ACG) block and condensate from the Shah Deniz field. In addition, other volumes of crude oil and condensate, including oil from Turkmenistan, Russia, and Kazakhstan, are transported through the BTC.
