As part of the ongoing efforts to adopt eco-friendly technologies, Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company's (ASCO) Bibiheybat Ship Repair Yard (SRY) has installed 162 solar panels, each with a capacity of 690 W, covering a total area of 512 square meters on the roof of one of its production workshops.
The solar power system comprises solar panels, an inverter, cable wiring, a SCADA control device, and a meter. The inverter comes with a 10-year warranty, while the solar panels are backed by a 25-year guarantee.
The Absheron Peninsula, where Bibiheybat SRY is located, receives 2,200-2,400 hours of sunlight annually. Considering this, the installed system is expected to generate 240-260 MWh of electricity at 380 V each year.
This project, implemented as part of the Green World Solidarity Year initiative, aims to enhance and optimize energy efficiency and represents ASCO's contribution to environmental protection efforts.
