SOCAR accounts for 64% of Azerbaijan's non-oil exports

In 2021, the country's non-oil exports increased by $870 million, Report informs, citing SOCAR.

Of this, 64.4% of the increase in exports of non-oil products fell to the share of SOCAR.

Urea, which contains more than 46% nitrogen, is the highest quality and most useful fertilizer among nitrogen fertilizers. Each ton of nitrogen added to the soil leads to an additional 10-15 tons of wheat, 30-40 tons of sugar beet, 2 tons of flax fibre, as well as to further improvement of the quality of products.

Urea (nitrogen fertilizer) is manufactured at SOCAR Carbamide Plant in the Sumgayit Chemical Industrial Park. The plant was commissioned on January 16, 2019, and has the capacity to produce 650,000-660,000 tons of urea per year, using 435 million cubic meters of natural gas as raw material. 70% of the production volume is intended for export.
