Slovakia may increase the production of natural gas in its territory ten times to meet 10% of domestic gas needs, Report informs, citing TASS.
Currently, the country's needs for natural gas are met by supplies from Russia by 85-87%, and the production of this energy source in the country meets only 1% of the demand. The country consumes nearly 5 billion cubic meters of gas annually.
Slovakia produced around 50 million cubic meters of gas last year.
Its underground gas reservoirs are currently 20% full.
