There are many ways to diversify into reliable suppliers other than Russian gas. The US, Norway and Azerbaijan are alternative partners, President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen said, Report informs referring to the Publicist 24.
The root of the EU problem is dependence on fossil fuels, she said.
The document says EU leaders have failed to agree on a continental price cap for gas prices because Russia's intervention in Ukraine disrupted markets.

Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi also wanted to propose limits on gas prices in the EU, but did not receive the support of his colleagues.
