Serbia hopes that the commissioning of the Bulgarian-Serbian gas interconnector (IGB) in 2023 would make it possible to integrate into the Southern Gas Corridor (SGC), Azerbaijani Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov wrote on Twitter.
Construction of a new natural gas interconnector between Serbia and Bulgaria began on February 1 and is scheduled for completion in the fourth quarter of 2023.
The total length of the IGB pipeline is 182 km, of which 151 km will run through Bulgaria and 31 km through Greece. The annual throughput of the gas pipeline is provided in the amount of 3 billion cubic meters, but. if there is demand, the capacity can be expanded to 5 billion cubic meters per year.
