Azerbaijan's oil production down 3%

In 2021, Azerbaijan produced 34.6 million tons of oil (including condensate), according to a report by the Energy Ministry on the results of the work done for 2021, Report informs.

This is 1.044 million tons or 2.9% less than the forecast. Compared to the corresponding period in 2020, oil production (including condensate) increased by 33,000 tons or 0.095%.

According to the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), 7.9 million tons of oil together with condensate were produced last year, which is about 351,000 tons or 4.7% more than the forecast.

During 2021, production at the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli block of fields amounted to 22.5 million tons, which is a drop of 1.528 million tons or 6.4% from the forecast.

During this time, 4.2 million tons of oil (together with condensate) were produced from the Shah Deniz gas condensate field. This is approximately 133,000 tons or 3.3% more than the forecast.
