Official ceremony celebrates start of Azerbaijani gas flow to Syria

A ceremony marking the start of Azerbaijani gas transportation to Syria through Turkish territory was held in the Turkish province of Kilis, Report informs.

Government representatives and officials from Azerbaijan, Türkiye, Syria, and Qatar attended the event.

In the first phase, 1.2 billion cubic meters of gas will be exported annually to Syria. The gas will be transported through the Turkish border province of Kilis to power plants in Aleppo and Homs, where it will be used for electricity generation, aiming to produce 1,200-1,300 megawatts of power.
