New electricity tariffs have been established in Azerbaijan, Report informs, citing the Tariff (Price) Council of Azerbaijan.
The new tariffs take into account the impact of natural gas price increases on electricity production costs and the need to improve service sustainability in this sector.
For residential consumers:
- For monthly consumption up to 200 kWh, the tariff increased by 0.4 gapik (5%) from 8 to 8.4 gapiks per kWh;
- For consumption between 200-300 kWh, the tariff increased by 1 gapik (11.1%) from 9 to 10 gapiks per kWh;
- For consumption above 300 kWh, the tariff increased by 2 gapiks (15.4%) from 13 to 15 gapiks per kWh;
- The average tariff per kilowatt-hour for residential consumers increased by 0.7 gapik (7.8%).
Expected monthly cost increases for residential subscribers:
- 65% of subscribers: 45 gapiks
- 20% of subscribers: 1 manat 33 gapiks
- 15% of subscribers (high consumers): 5 manat 61 gapiks
For 65% of the population, the electricity tariff increase is minimal at 0.4 gapik (5%).
For the industrial and agricultural sectors, the tariff increased by 0.6 kopecks (6%) from 10 to 10.6 gapiks per kWh to minimize the impact on the consumer price index.
For electric charging stations, the tariff increased by 1.5 gapiks (13.6%) from 11 to 12.5 gapiks per kWh. The service prices at electric charging stations will be freely determined by entrepreneurs under competitive conditions.
The current exchange rate is approximately 1 Azerbaijani Manat (AZN) = 0.59 US Dollars (USD).
