Minister: Azerbaijan aims to increase share of renewable energy to 30% by 2030

By 2030, Azerbaijan has set the goal of increasing the share of renewable energy to 30% of the installed capacity of electricity, Mukhtar Babayev, the COP29 President-Designate and the Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan said at the first press conference held at the COP29 headquarters, Report informs.
He recalled that Azerbaijan aimed to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 35% by 2030, and by 40% by 2050, compared to the base year (1990).
The minister emphasized that the works in this regard are ongoing successfully.
