Underground gas storage (UGS) “Reden” - one of the largest in Europe and the biggest in Germany - stopped the injection and extraction of gas since April 1, according to the data of Gas Infrastructure Europe, Report informs citing TASS.
Since the beginning of April, gas extraction has been stopped from the storage facility with capacity of 4.2 billion cubic meters. The occupancy of the Reden underground storage facility is now only 0.51%.
The gas storage operator is the German company Astora GmbH, a subsidiary of Gazprom Germania Gmbh.
Earlier it was reported that on March 31, 2022, the Gazprom group ceased participation in the German company Gazprom Germania Gmbh and all its assets. The company's statement explained that since March 31, the holding no longer owns the subsidiary Gazprom Export Business Services, registered in St. Petersburg, which, in turn, is the sole founder of Gazprom Germania Gmbh.
On April 4, the German Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection placed Gazprom Germania GmbH under the trusteeship of the Federal Network Agency until September 30.
