In 2021, the average daily volume of gas exports from the Shah Deniz field to the Sangachal terminal amounted to 61 million cubic meters (approximately 2 billion 166 million standard cubic feet), which is 12 million cubic meters or 24.5% more than in 2020, Report informs, citing a statement released by BP-Azerbaijan and partners.
The capacity of the technical processing systems of the terminal is 1.2 million barrels of oil per day, and for gas from the Shah Deniz field is 81 million standard cubic meters. The total volume of gas processing and export capacity (including associated gas from ACG) is 100 million standard cubic meters per day.
About 231 million barrels of oil and condensate were exported from the Sangachal terminal during the year, which is 8 million barrels or 3.34% less than in 2020.
Last year, 200 million barrels were transported via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline (a drop of 8 million barrels or 3.85% compared to 2020), and more than 31 million barrels were transported via the western export pipeline (Baku-Supsa).
Gas is exported from the terminal mainly via the South Caucasus Pipeline and the SOCAR-owned gas pipeline connecting the terminal's gas processing facilities with the gas distribution system of Azeri gas.
