Fuad Najafli: Nakhchivan's power grid to be fully reconstructed

The power grid of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic (NAR) will be fully reconstructed as part of the State Program for Socioeconomic Development for 2023-2027, Authorized Representative of the President in NAR Fuad Najafli said.

Report's Nakhchivan bureau informs that Najafli was speaking at the 1st international conference 'Nakhchivan - zone of green energy' held in Nakhchivan within the framework of the 3rd Azerbaijan-Türkiye Energy Forum.

Najafli noted that the 6th priority area of the program is to increase the electricity generation and export.

"The state program envisages, in parallel with the renovation of the electrical power infrastructure, the design of high-voltage power transmission lines between Azerbaijan and Türkiye," he said.

According to him, the modernization of existing and construction of new power plants in Nakhchivan, the increase in electricity production using renewable energy sources, as well as the implementation of new projects will ensure an increase in electricity exports from Azerbaijan.
