Francesco Corvaro: Italy plans to establish co-op with Azerbaijan in renewables in future

Italy plans to establish cooperation with Azerbaijan in the field of renewables in the future, Francesco Corvaro, Italy's special envoy for climate action, told Report on the sidelines of Pre-COP29 in Baku.

"Cooperation in the field of renewables is planned for the future. We are working on projects in this area, particularly in the issue of storing energy from renewable sources. This is very important for both the Italian and Azerbaijani sides," he said.

Corvaro noted that Azerbaijan and Italy are closely cooperating in the energy sector and are working together to reduce the negative impact of this industry on the environment.

"We have several methods that we apply to reduce greenhouse gas emissions during transportation, including natural gas. We must remember that it is necessary to maintain the use of natural gas for a fair transition system," Corvaro added.
