Floating solar panels to be installed on Lake Buyukshor in Baku

The Azerbaijani government jointly with the Asian Development Bank has started the implementation of the project related to the installation of floating solar panels on Lake Buyukshor in Baku, Deputy Minister of Energy Elnur Soltanov told journalists, Report informs.
According to him, 0.1 mW of energy power is expected to be obtained via the project.
“Floating solar panels cost more than land-based panels. Usually, investors in such projects request funds from the state. In our country, renewable energy tariffs are not so high. Therefore, we are testing this project as a pilot project,” Soltanov said.
