Azerenergy's WPPs increase electricity production by 60%

Azerenergy OJSC generated 6.371 billion kWh of electricity in January-March 2024, down 672.4 million kWh, or 9.5%, from the previous year, Report informs, citing the Ministry of Energy.

Of this, 5.951 billion kWh was generated in the Thermal Power Plants (TPP) and 420 million kWh in the Water Power Plants (WPPs), respectively, down 830,100 kWh (12.2%) and up 157.7 million kWh (60.15) from the same period in 2023.

In the first quarter of 2024, State Energy Agency of Nakhchivan AR produced 92.1 million kWh of electricity, showing a 4.8 million kWh, or 5.5%, growth in comparison with the first quarter of 2023. Of this, 64.5 million kWh (+4.9%) was produced in the TPPs, 15.4 million kWh (+13.2%) in WPPs and 12.2 million kWh (stable) in Solar Power Plants (SPP).

The WPPs on Azerishig OJSC declined production by 19.5% to 9.5 million kWh, while independent power plants increased the production by 7% to 656.7 million kWh.
