Azerbaijan starts buying coal from another market

In the first half of 2022, Azerbaijan bought 10,314 tons (13.2 % year-on-year increase) of coal (anthracite and bituminized) for $1.852 million (18% year-on-year increase), Report informs, citing the country’s State Statistics Committee.
During the reporting period, Azerbaijan imported 10,285 tons (-13.1%) from Russia for $1.828 million (+22%), 26,76 tons (+22.5 times) from Turkiye for $19,700 (+6.7 times)), 1.8 tons (there was no supply a year ago) from China for $1,290 and 0.27 tons from Saudi Arabia for $4,000.
This year, for the first time in the last 11 years, Azerbaijan imported coal from Saudi Arabia.
