Azerbaijan shares data on electricity exports to Georgia in 1Q2024

Azerbaijan exported over 350.17 million kWh of electricity, valued at approximately $18 million to Georgia in the first quarter of 2024, Report informs, citing the State Statistical Committee of Azerbaijan.
Compared to the corresponding period of 2023, this is a decline of 70.1 percent in volume and 75.2 percent in value.
During the reporting period, the share of Georgia in Azerbaijan’s total electricity exports was 48.8%.
In January-March 2024, Azerbaijan exported a total of 718.12 million kWh of electricity worth more than $40.5 million, representing a decrease of 70 percent in volume and 85.6 percent in value from the same period of last year. The supplies were made to 4 countries, which include Georgia, Türkiye, Russia and Iran, respectively.
At the same time, Azerbaijan imported nearly 12.64 million kWh of electricity from Georgia worth $821,520 in the specified period, shows a 9.2-times increase both in terms of volume and value compared to the same period of previous year.
Over the course of three months, Georgia accounted for 28.9% of Azerbaijan’s total electricity imports.
