Azerbaijan sees over 16% growth in solar power production 

The production in the sector of electric power, gas and steam production, distribution, and supply amounted to AZN 1,404.6 million in January-June 2021, up 2.6% from a year earlier, Report informs, citing the State Statistical Committee.

The production in the water supply, waste treatment, and processing sector has risen by 10.7%, settling at AZN 240 million.

Azerbaijan produced 14,868.8 million kWh of electric power in the reporting period, up 4% from the previous year.

Of this, 858.1 million kWh was produced at hydropower plants, 13.3% higher than a year ago.

Heating power stations produced 13,467.6 million kWh of energy, 3.8% more than in 2020.

Wind power production fell 11.8% to 54 million kWh, and solar power production went up by 16.2% to 31.5 million kWh.
