Azerbaijan sees methanol production fall by 40%

In January-August this year, Azerbaijan produced 197,200 tons of methanol, Report informs referring to the State Statistics Committee.
This is 39.7 percent less than in the same period last year.
As of Sept. 1, stocks of finished products amounted to 31,900 tons.
Methanol production is carried out at the methanol plant of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) in the Garadagh district of Baku. The methanol plant was commissioned in 2013, transferred under the management of SOCAR Methanol LLC since 2016, and since August 2017 became the company’s property.
The maximum productivity of the plant is 650,000-700,000 tons of methanol per year.
