Azerbaijan sees 8% growth in electricity generation 

The production in the sector of electric power, gas and steam production, distribution, and supply amounted to 2,271.4 million manats in January-November 2021, up 7.2% from a year earlier, Report informs, citing the State Statistical Committee.

The production in the water supply, waste treatment, and processing sector has risen by 14.9%, settling at 402.3 million manats.

Azerbaijan produced 23,509.8 million kWh of electric power in the reporting period, up 7.9% from the previous year.

Of this, 1,162.9 million kWh was produced at hydropower plants, 18% higher than a year ago.

Heating power stations produced 21,494.8 million kWh of energy, 7.9% more than 2020.

Wind power production fell 6.7% to 81.1 million kWh, and solar power production went up by 15.9% to 51 million kWh.
