Azerbaijan’s oil imports almost double

In January-March 2025, Azerbaijan imported almost 419,500 tons of oil worth approximately $213 million, Report informs, citing the country's State Statistical Committee.

Compared to the corresponding period in 2024, the country’s oil imports increased 1.8 times in volume and 1.6 times in value.

Russia remained Azerbaijan’s primary oil supplier, accounting for 90% of total imports. Just over 377,707 tons of oil—2.2 times more than in 2024—were imported from Russia, amounting to about $190.32 million, a twofold increase in value.

Kazakhstan also contributed to Azerbaijan’s imports, supplying just over 41,792 tons of oil (a 45.1% increase) worth more than $22.6 million (a 19.4% rise).

In 2024, Azerbaijan’s total oil imports reached 1.869 million tons, a 2.5% increase from the previous year, with a total value of $1.02 billion, marking a 5.3% growth compared to 2023.
