Azerbaijan reduces profits from polypropylene exports by 10%

In January-February 2022, Azerbaijan exported 11,565 tons of polypropylene in primary forms worth $17.775 million, down 37.7% and 10.1%, Report informs, citing the State Statistics Committee.
Polypropylene accounted for 3.85% of exports in the non-oil sector, and for 0.3% of the country's total exports.
The SOCAR Polymer project includes polypropylene plants with an annual capacity of 184,000 tons and high-density polyethylene plants with a yearly capacity of 120,000 tons. The polypropylene plant was commissioned on July 18, 2018, with the participation of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Italian President Sergio Mattarella. Export of polypropylene started on October 5.
