Azerbaijan increases solar power production by 16%

The production in the sector of electric power, gas and steam production, distribution, and supply amounted to 1,993.5 million manats in January-October 2021, up 6.7% from a year earlier, Report informs, citing the State Statistical Committee.

The production in the water supply, waste treatment, and processing sector has risen by 13.5%, settling at 362.6 million manats.

Azerbaijan produced 21,245.7 million kWh of electric power in the reporting period, up 7.2% from the previous year.

Of this, 1,081.5 million kWh was produced at hydropower plants, 17.2% higher than a year ago.

Heating power stations produced 19,387.6 million kWh of energy, 7.1% more than in 2020.

Wind power production fell 6.3% to 75.6 million kWh, and solar power production went up by 15.8% to 47.7 million kWh.
