Azerbaijan increases annual electricity production

In 2021, Azerbaijan’s total electricity production exceeded 27,855.7 million kWh, 2,044.5 million kWh or 7.9% more than in 2020, Report informs, citing the Azerbaijani Energy Ministry.

For comparison, Azerbaijan generated 25,811.2 million kWh of electricity in 2020.

In 2021, Azerbaijan produced 26,238.5 million kWh in thermal power plants (TPPs), 1,277.3 million kWh in hydropower plants (HPPs), and 339.9 million kWh in other sources, such as wind power plants (91.5 million kWh), solar power plants (55.2 million kWh) and bio power plants (193.2 million kWh).

In 2021, Azerenergy OJSC produced 25,037.8 million kWh (23,904.9 million kWh at TPPs, 1,132.9 million kWh at HPPs), Nakhchivan AR State Energy Service - 451 million kWh (269.5 million kWh at TPPs, 130.3 million kWh at HPPs, 51.2 million kWh at solar power stations). Azerishig OJSC accounted for 66.1 million kWh of electricity at wind power plants and 2,300.8 million kWh at independent power stations.
