Azerbaijan gets eight-fold increase in wind power production

Baku. 19 February. REPORT.AZ/ The production in the sector of electric power, gas and steam production, distribution and supply amounted to AZN 181,900,000 in January 2019, up 0.5% from 2017, Report informs citing the State Statistical Committee.

Production in water supply, waste treatment and processing sector has risen by 8.1% settling at AZN 24.6 million.

In the reporting period, Azerbaijan produced 2,185,300,000 kWh of electric power, up 0.6% in comparison to a year earlier.

Of this, 98,200 kWh was produced at hydro power stations, up 6.1% by contrast to a year ago.

Heating power stations produced 1,996.3 kWh of energy, 1% more than in 2018.

Wind power production rose 7.6-fold to 11.4 kWh, while solar power production dropped by 26.3% to 2.4 kWh.
