Azerbaijan, EBRD discuss financing of SGC expansion

Azerbaijan has discussed the possibilities of financial support for the expansion of the Southern Gas Corridor (SGC) with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) in the context of energy security challenges, Report informs, citing Azerbaijan’s Energy Ministry.
The discussions took place between Azerbaijani Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov and Sule Kilic, Director of the Energy Department of the EBRD for the Eurasian region and Türkiye.
During the meeting, the sides expressed satisfaction with the long-term cooperation with the bank. The EBRD's allocation of long-term loans for the 230 MW Garadagh Solar Power Plant (SPP), 240 MW Khizi-Absheron Wind Power Plant, 315 MW Banka SPP, and 445 MW Bilasuvar SPP was praised.
Also, information was provided about projects being implemented in Azerbaijan for domestic consumption and export purposes.
At the same time, an exchange of views was held on cooperation with the EBRD at the implementation stage of green energy interconnectors. Possibilities of financial support for green energy corridors were discussed.
