The Azerbaijani Energy Ministry and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) have engaged in discussions on cooperation for priority energy projects, Report informs, citing the ministry.
The discussions took place during a meeting between Azerbaijani Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov and ADB's Country Director for Azerbaijan, Sunniya Durrani-Jamal.
The meeting highlighted satisfaction with the long-term cooperation between Azerbaijan and ADB in the energy sector. The bank's support, especially in renewable energy projects such as solar energy and the Central Asia-Azerbaijan Green Energy Corridor, was praised. Key energy agenda issues were discussed.
Attention was given to work done, as well as upcoming plans related to green energy infrastructure connecting Azerbaijan with Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, including the fiber-optic component (FOC), offshore wind energy production and transmission, and the establishment of coastal infrastructure.
The planned meeting involving the three countries and ADB regarding the Central Asia-Azerbaijan Green Energy Corridor project within the framework of the Southern Gas Corridor and the Green Energy Advisory Council was mentioned.
Cooperation opportunities in various areas, including small-scale renewable energy projects and network improvement with the Bank, were evaluated. The current state of cooperation on the decarbonization project of the heat supply sector was also reviewed.
Additionally, an exchange of views on development trends in the natural gas sector and prospects for expanding the Southern Gas Corridor was held.
